Advocacy for Foster Youth Issues

Advocacy plays an important role in how we deliver services to current and former foster youth. Due to their circumstances foster youth interact with government and policy structures more than other non-court involved youth. Therefore they are more affected by policies and need caring concerned adults to advocate for them, and to teach them how to advocate for themselves. We accomplish our advocacy work through participating in Youth Lobby Day at the State Capital, our membership with the Alameda County Foster Youth Alliance, and by encouraging youth to be involved in the California Youth Connections.
