Recognition & Awards

PPYS’ approach to helping youth successfully meet their personal and career goals have been nationally and locally recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Human Services, U.S. Dept of Labor, California Workforce Investment Act (WIA), State Assembly 16th district as well as various community groups. In 2005, PPYS was recognized by the California Workforce Investment Act for its work with current and former foster youth in part by Alameda County Workforce Investment Board HOPE project and was used as a model program to implement in other counties throughout the state of California. Just recently, in the December 2008 WIA report, OWIB ranked within the top 5 among the WIA employment providers for meeting and exceeding its common measures performance outcomes. PPYS was one of the youth providers for the Oakland Workforce Investment Board that was recognized for its positive outcomes.
